Job summary

Wooster Animal Clinic in Northeastern Ohio is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced, 2.5-doctor practice. You will perform radiography, anesthesia monitoring, patient nursing, and lab work while communicating treatment plans clearly to clients.

Ideal candidates hold an active RVT license, have strong animal restraint skills, and are reliable team players willing to work Saturdays. We offer growth, education support, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license.
• 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
• Availability to work some Saturdays.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, and skin specimens.
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with dental radiography a plus.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.

Responsibilities

We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients, which include (but are not limited to!) wellness and geriatric care, full-body digital radiography, ultrasounds, echocardiograms, endoscopy, complex dentistry with digital radiography, reproductive services, general and advanced surgery (to include orthopedics), and more!

We’re really proud of the amazing team we’ve built here, and today our crew includes three doctors, three technicians, and more than ten support staff members. We're looking to add another Registered Veterinary Technician to our squad!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
