Job summary

Allianceanimalhealth in Indiana is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role includes anesthesia management, surgical preparation, lab work, radiography, and routine nursing care for hospitalized patients. You will restrain patients safely, communicate treatment plans to clients, and support continuous learning through hands-on training and CE opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician with IN license.
  • 2+ years professional experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with animal hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Pet restraint and nursing care.
  • Triage and diagnostic imaging for incoming patients.
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples.
  • Administration of medications.
  • Anesthetic management and surgical preparation.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We're Looking For:
  • A Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license in IN required, 2+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
  • Availability to work some Saturday morning shifts.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
  • Previous professional experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

Pay Range: $24 - $27/hr depending on experience level
