Job summary

Jamacha Pet Vets is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California to join our fast-paced, team-oriented practice in Santee. You will support surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures, coordinating schedules and guiding clients through admission and discharge.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of RVT experience, active CA licensure, and proficiency in anesthesia induction, monitoring, radiography, and lab testing.

Jamacha Pet Vetsis seeking an experienced RegisteredVeterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules
• Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
• Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
• Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
• Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 30 - $37 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a flexible, full-time, or part-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday .

• Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of California

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California **
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Accurate medical record documentation
  • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Client education and communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills

Jamacha Pet Vets is an 8-doctor small-animal practice with 3 credentialed technicians caring for dogs and cats. The freestanding hospital offers digital X-ray, digital dental radiography, IDEXX and in-house laboratory capabilities, laser therapy, and ultrasound. The team provides general soft tissue surgery as well as orthopedic procedures supported by a residency-trained doctor, with opportunities for advanced case exposure and continued growth.
