Job summary

Park Animal Hospital in San Francisco, CA seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician for a full-time role with 5-day, 8-hour shifts and no weekends. You will support veterinarians across outpatient care, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery while partnering with clients and the hospital team for compassionate care.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Park Animal Hospital

San Francisco, CA

Full-time: 5-day, 8-hour shift. No weekends!

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $31-$36/hour. The final pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

About You

As a Registered Veterinary Technician at Park Animal Hospital, you’ll provide hands‑on support across outpatient care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, patient intake, and discharge. You’ll help pets receive thoughtful, high-quality care while partnering closely with veterinarians, clients, and your hospital team.

Experience and Skills Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical veterinary technician experience, including direct patient care
  • Active California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required
  • Dental experience strongly preferred, including proficiency with dental cleanings
  • Experience monitoring surgical patients and anesthesia

Role Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
