Job summary

Governor Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to support surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures. The role offers autonomy, trust, and a collaborative general practice environment in San Diego.

You will coordinate surgical and dental schedules, prepare anesthetic medications, induce and monitor anesthesia, and assist with dental care while guiding client admissions with compassion.

Job description

Governor Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced RegisteredVeterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.

In this position, you will take an active role in:
  • Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules
  • Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
  • Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
  • Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
  • Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion
Schedule and compensation:
  • Compensation: $25 - $32per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday . Every other Saturday is a half day, but only temporarily until trained. Then, it would be on a broad RVT Sat rotation.
Full-time Benefits Package*:
  • Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of [state]

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California **
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
    • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
    • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
    • Accurate medical record documentation
    • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
