Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Banfield Pet Hospital is hiring a part-time RVT for its Hagerstown Hospital located at 17740 Garland Groh Blvd, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

The anticipated starting hourly rate for interested candidates is $25 to $36 per hour, depending on schedule, location, experience, skills, and abilities.

Who we’re looking for

We seek passionate, skilled RVTs with diverse perspectives who use their expertise to benefit pets, clients, teams, and communities. Candidates must have:

• Veterinary Technician Licensure, Certification, or Registration (LVT, CVT, or RVT)
• Or be Vet Tech students in the process of graduating and completing accreditation

Role responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist in hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns, wellness plans, medications, and treatments.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support data collection for research.
• Gather health histories, maintain medical charts, and ensure clean, organized treatment areas.
• Use safe restraining techniques and follow protocols.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.
