Job summary

CareVet is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. You will provide compassionate nursing care for hospitalized and outpatient patients, perform venipuncture, manage anesthesia, and assist with surgery and dental procedures.

You’ll also collect lab samples, educate clients, and maintain precise medical records while collaborating with veterinarians, assistants, and receptionists to ensure smooth patient care.

Qualifications

  • Active RVT license in good standing.
  • Experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.
  • Comfort with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, radiology, lab procedures, and nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients.
  • Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures.
  • Induce and monitor anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Educate clients on medications and preventive care.

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician who wants to do more than just “get through the day”? We’re looking for a skilled, compassionate, and dependable Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. What You’ll Do
  • Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients
  • Performing venipuncture and placing IV catheters
  • Collecting and processing laboratory samples
  • Administering medications, injections, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures
  • Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
  • Monitoring patients throughout procedures and recovery
  • Performing dental radiographs and assisting with dental procedures
  • Taking diagnostic radiographs
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
  • Educating clients about medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
  • Maintaining proper cleanliness, organization, and infection-control standards
  • Recognizing changes in a patient’s condition and communicating concerns promptlyWorking closely with veterinarians, assistants, receptionists, and fellow technicians to keep patient care running smoothly
Who We’re Looking For
  • Are a Registered Veterinary Technician in good standing
  • Have previous veterinary technician experience
  • Are comfortable with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, radiology, laboratory procedures, and patient nursing
  • Can confidently handle dogs and cats using compassionate, appropriate restraint techniques
  • Have strong communication and client-education skills
  • Remain calm and focused when the hospital gets busy
  • Are dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
  • Work well independently while also being a supportive team member
  • Bring a positive, solutions-oriented attitude to work
  • Believe every patient deserves kindness, patience, and excellent care
