Job summary

Sierra Animal Wellness Center in Colfax, CA is seeking a passionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. This role supports veterinarians with exams, surgeries, diagnostics, and day-to-day patient care in a compassionate, client-focused practice.

Responsibilities include administering meds, performing dental work, taking radiographs, monitoring anesthesia, maintaining records, and educating clients on care plans. Active CA RVT license and prior clinic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RVT license in California.
• Experience in a veterinary clinic preferred.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, dental procedures, dental xrays, and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the attending veterinarian.
• Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
• Monitor and care for patients under anesthesia and during post-operative recovery.
• Perform dental cleanings, radiographs, and other technical procedures.
• Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding care plans, medications, and preventive health.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation in practice management software.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical environment.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, dental prophys, dental xrays, and anesthesia monitoring
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, surgical prep, and laboratory diagnostics
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-friendly demeanor
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Comfortable handling animals of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
