Job summary

Loving Family Animal Hospital, located in Aurora, Colorado, is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team for outpatient and procedural support including surgery and dentistry. The ideal candidate is versatile, client-focused, and able to balance exam room care with hands-on procedures in a busy general practice.

We offer a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule, Monday–Friday plus rotating Saturdays 9a–1p once a month.

Qualifications

• 4+ years veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in Colorado.
• Proficiency in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery; surgical aseptic technique; dental prophylaxis and radiography.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Assist in surgery.
• Perform dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.

Job description

Loving Family Animal Hospitalis seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting in surgery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating Saturdays from 9a-1p once a month.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 4+ years of veterinary technician experience or veterinary assistant experience preferred
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado **
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Experience with birds and pocket pets preferred

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
