Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate patients with communication or swallowing disorders and develop plans of care under supervision.

You will treat patients using approved procedures, educate families, document progress, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings. Missouri licensure and CCC eligibility are required or in progress; BLS within 90 days; travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Missouri state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or in process.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or in process.
• BLS certification within 90 days (not required if remote).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to determine communication or swallowing deficits.
• Establish goals and plan treatment to maximize recovery.
• Plan and implement therapeutic programs using approved procedures.
• Document treatments and patient progress regularly.
• Participate in staff meetings, family conferences, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Engage in continual process improvement.
• Travel between system facilities as needed.

Job Description

The Speech Language Pathologist works under the supervision of leadership. Evaluates and develops plan of care and treats patients with communication or swallowing deficits. Evaluates, plans and implements treatment programs for the rehabilitation of patients, as directed by a provider, using approved treatment procedures. Provides patient/family education. Participates in family conferences. Is responsible for all necessary documentation as required by accepted medical guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients.


• Establishes goals that maximize the patient’s recovery.


• Plans a treatment program, using appropriate treatment procedures that will best accomplish the established goals.


• Treats patient's deficits consistent with approved treatment procedures.


• Documents treatment procedures and the patient’s response to them on a regular basis.


• Participates in staff meetings, family conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings, as appropriate.


• Participates in continual process improvement.


• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Master's Degree - Graduate of Master of Science degree program accredited in Speech Pathology. - Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Speech Pathologist - Licensed in Missouri, completion or in process of completion of certificate of clinical competency. - Required within 60 Days


• Basic Life Support (BLS) - (Not required if working remotely) - Required within 90 Days

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations, - Required
