Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Registered Sonographer- Vascular (NRV) Flex/PRN to perform vascular ultrasound exams in a flexible, patient-focused setting at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

Flex/PRN schedule covers normal business hours, weekends and holidays as needed; compensation includes competitive pay and opportunities for CME. Training and teamwork are emphasized in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.
• Experience: none.

Responsibilities

• Carotid ultrasounds, Venous ultrasounds, Arterial ultrasounds, Renal ultrasounds.
• Take part in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.

Job duties and responsibilities to include

• Carotid ultrasounds
• Venous ultrasounds
• Arterial ultrasounds
• Renal ultrasounds
• Take part in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Experience: Vascular ultrasound experience preferred but not required.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) in Vascular Sonography. ARDMS or CCI. CPR certification required.

• Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.
• Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).
• Trains students and staff as assigned.
• Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs, and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
• Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.

What We Require

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.

Experience: none

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: ARRT registry/ARDMS in one of the following areas: OB/Gyn, Abd or Neurosonography. CPR certification required.

Other: Interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments.

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
