Job Summary and Qualifications

Respiratory Therapy involves assessing and treating patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. Respiratory Therapists are vital members of the healthcare team, requiring broad knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and procedures to diagnose and treat patients of all ages.

About This Unit:

What You Will Do in This Role:

• Under supervision, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as ordered by a physician.
• Responsibilities include administering medical gases, aerosol therapy, blood specimen analysis, patient testing, operating respiratory equipment, providing mechanical ventilation, maintaining airways, assisting in resuscitation, patient education, and monitoring responses.
• Complete documentation, clean equipment, and uphold safety and infection control practices.

Qualifications Needed:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program preferred; AS or BS degree preferred.
• Must hold Missouri license and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• One year of recent clinical experience preferred.
