Responsibilities

Under the direction of the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, the RCP II performs respiratory therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, considering patient age and specific needs. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned as Lead RCP, overseeing the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

• State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification required, maintained annually.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC required.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience as an RCP.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire, maintained annually.
• NRP certification preferred.
• PALS certification within 60 days of hire, maintained annually.
• Associate or Bachelor of Science degree required; high school diploma or equivalent if not held.
