Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team.

You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care across emergency, critical care, and acute settings, using advanced technology and mentoring from RT leaders. You will assess respiratory status, deliver evidence-based therapy, manage ventilation and airways, educate patients and families, and uphold infection prevention standards.

Qualifications

• NBRC-RRT certification and active state licensure.
• ACLS and BLS certifications within specified timelines.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Ability to work across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status through exams, breath sounds, and airway patency.
• Deliver oxygen, aerosolized meds, airway clearance techniques, and other therapies across settings.
• Manage ventilation and artificial airways; monitor responses to therapy.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize care.
• Maintain and disinfect equipment; ensure readiness and infection prevention.
