Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will perform critical care and diagnostic procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases on patients of all ages. Responsibilities include:

• Setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment
• Performing technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics
• Demonstrating competency in airway care
• Assessing patients, interpreting results, and suggesting respiratory treatments
• Routine patient assessment and recognizing respiratory dysfunction
• Delivering therapy, reassessing patients, and maintaining documentation
• Communicating with physicians and nurses about patient care plans

Experience

Preferred: Acute Care Hospital experience

Education

Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by NBRC
• Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU RRT staff
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for ICU RRT staff
