Job Overview – RRT Level II (ER Setting)

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic Emergency Department as a Level II Respiratory Therapist. This opportunity is ideal for a travel RRT or experienced professional seeking to provide immediate and critical respiratory care in a fast-paced ER environment. Candidates must be proficient in handling respiratory emergencies and capable of working with diverse patient populations in high-pressure settings.

Duties

• Perform rapid and thorough respiratory assessments for patients in the ER
• Deliver emergency respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulization, and airway management
• Assist with intubations, ventilator management, and resuscitation efforts during trauma cases
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, nurses, and ICU teams to develop and execute care plans
• Respond to Code Blue and trauma activations as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Utilize critical thinking skills and evidence-based practices to treat patients of all ages
• Accurately document assessments, procedures, and patient responses using medical terminology and EMR systems
  
  

Experience & Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency or critical care settings preferred
• Previous work in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers highly desirable
• Experience with both pediatric and geriatric patients is a plus
• Familiarity with ER protocols, acute care interventions, and ventilator management
• Strong ability to prioritize care in a high-acuity, rapidly changing environment
• Flexibility and adaptability for travel RRT assignments or shift-based work
