Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to guide patients through routine and critical care. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage ventilation, and support the care team across multiple settings.

Required NBRC-RRT certification with ACLS within 90 days and BCLS within 30 days. This role offers a stable schedule, advanced respiratory technology, and opportunities for professional growth within HCA Healthcare.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) certification is required.
• RRT/RCP-State license or credential as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and determine need for interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based respiratory therapy and manage ventilation.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and monitor patient responses.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• Associate Degree
