St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PRN to join our dynamic respiratory care team.

You will guide patients through routine and critical care, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and support ventilation management in a high-quality, caring environment. The role offers mentorship from RT leaders, access to advanced respiratory technology, and a collaborative team focused on professional growth and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of start date.
• NBRC-RRT certification required (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
• RRT/RCP-State licensure as Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status through focused exams and breath sounds to determine need for interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy: oxygen, aerosols, airway clearance, and other treatments across settings.
• Manage ventilation and airway support, including invasive/noninvasive ventilation and monitoring responses.

Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• Associate Degree
