Summary:
Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the supervision of a physician. Performs patient assessments and implements respiratory care plans. Executes various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures across hospital departments.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSRH-NB), located in downtown New Braunfels, is a full-service, 94-bed facility that continues to grow. It features advanced equipment and services, including outpatient imaging, orthopedic and surgical care, rehabilitation, a renovated birthing center with 24/7 neonatal coverage, emergency services, wound care/hyperbaric center, 3D mammography, and comprehensive heart care including diagnostics and open-heart surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue and White).
• Manage airways, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
• Administer aerosolized drugs.
• Manage ventilators, including setup and operation.
• Perform oral hygiene procedures.
• Place and maintain airway retaining devices.
• Manage airway support devices such as BiPAP and CPAP.
• Deliver oxygen therapy and monitor its effectiveness.
• Analyze chest X-rays.
• Collect and analyze blood gases.
• Analyze EKGs.
• Ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain equipment and supplies.
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
• Possibility to serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
• Advanced skills may include: therapeutic gas management (including INO and HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 studies, polysomnography, and transportation duties.

Job Requirements:

• Education/Skills: See licensure and certification requirements.
• Experience: 1-3 years preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: RT or RCP license in the state of employment, BLS, NBRC RRT certification, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
