Job summary

Horizon Health in Paris, IL is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care. You will work with physicians, RNs, NAs, and families to develop and implement patient care plans and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

Requirements include an accredited Respiratory Therapy program graduate, IL license, BLS/ACLS; RRT preferred or CRT certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification by NBRC.
• Current Illinois license for Respiratory Therapy Technician required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• 3–6 months RRT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory and pulmonary treatments, PFTs, EKGs, ABGs per policies.
• Completes and documents pertinent information in eMAR.
• Operates and maintains respiratory equipment per procedures.
• Educates patients on respiratory home care and rehab.
• Communicates with interdisciplinary services to address patient needs.
• Maintains infection control and safety standards.

Job description

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary

The registered respiratory technician provides respiratory care treatments and services as specified by a physician and/or departmental policies. Interacts as a team with physicians, RNs, NAs, USs, the patient and their families to develop a plan of care. Communicates with ancillary departments to provide services to the patient and their families. Has contact with a variety of patients of all ages (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric), as well as the mentally and physically challenged.

Essential Functions

• Administers respiratory and pulmonary treatments, PFTs, EKGs, ABGs, according to established policies and procedures.
• Complete and accurate documentation of pertinent information in eMAR
• Functions within regulatory standards for IDPH, TJC, and OSHA
• Inspect, test, dissemble, clean, reassemble, and troubleshoot all respiratory equipment as required.
• Provides patient education regarding respiratory home care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
• Communicates with interdisciplinary services about patient needs as indicated.
• Maintains competencies of all job related duties; infection control, OSHA blood borne pathogens, TB/respiratory protection plan, policies and procedures, disaster manual, safety Manual.
• Is willing to be flexible to meet patient care needs. Cooperates to provide coverage when needed. Cross trains to other areas as needed. Accepts assignments willingly.

Position Requirements

Pay Rate

Pay ranges from $21.351/hour to $34.161/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
