Job summary

Horizon Health in Paris, IL is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (Part Time) to provide respiratory care per physician orders and departmental policies. The role requires RRT or CRT certification, Illinois license, and BLS/ACLS with PALS preferred. 3–6 months RRT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred or CRT certification by NBRC.
• Current Illinois license for Respiratory Therapy Technician.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• 3-6 months RRT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory and pulmonary treatments, PFTs, EKGs, ABGs, according to policies.
• Complete and accurate documentation in eMAR.
• Functions within IDPH, TJC, and OSHA regulatory standards.
• Inspect, test, dissemble, clean, reassemble, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Provides patient education regarding respiratory home care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
• Communicates with interdisciplinary services about patient needs.
• Maintains competencies including infection control and TB/respiratory protection.
• Flexible to meet patient care needs; cross-trains to other areas as needed.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Current Illinois license for Respiratory Therapy Technician

Current BLS and ACLS certification

Position Summary:

The registered respiratory technician provides respiratory care treatments and services as specified by a physician and/or departmental policies. Interacts as a team with physicians, RNs, NAs, USs, the patient and their families to develop a plan of care. Communicates with ancillary departments to provide services to the patient and their families. Has contact with a variety of patients of all ages (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric), as well as the mentally and physically challenged.

Essential Functions:

• Administers respiratory and pulmonary treatments, PFTs, EKGs, ABGs, according to established policies and procedures.
• Complete and accurate documentation of pertinent information in eMAR
• Functions within regulatory standards for IDPH, TJC, and OSHA
• Inspect, test, dissemble, clean, reassemble, and troubleshoot all respiratory equipment as required.
• Provides patient education regarding respiratory home care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
• Communicates with interdisciplinary services about patient needs as indicated.
• Maintains competencies of all job related duties; infection control, OSHA blood borne pathogens, TB/respiratory protection plan, policies and procedures, disaster manual, safety Manual.
• Is willing to be flexible to meet patient care needs. Cooperates to provide coverage when needed. Cross trains to other areas as needed. Accepts assignments willingly.

Position Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) ** preferred ** OR Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification by the NBRC
• Current Illinois license for Respiratory Therapy Technician required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required. PALS preferred.
• 3-6 months RRT experience preferred

Pay Rate:

Pay ranges from $21.351/hour to $34.161/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
