Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for PRN Day shifts in the Respiratory Care Department. This role involves patient assessment, treatment, and documentation, with a 3-shift rotation over a six-week schedule including one weekend shift.

Required: RRT and RCP at hire, BCLS; ACLS preferred; NICU requires NRP within 90 days. Experience in adult/neonatal ICU preferred.

Qualifications

• RRT and RCP at hire required; ACLS preferred and NRP required for NICU work.
• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred; adult and neonatal ICU preferred.
• CLIA regulations compliance for foreign education equivalency required.

Responsabilités

• Patient Assessment/Plan of Care: obtain physician orders and verify appropriateness.
• Patient Treatment: perform procedures within licensure scope; age-appropriate techniques.
• Documentation: record treatment sessions per regulatory guidelines.
• Professional Accountability: utilize resources and participate in orientation/training.

RRT PRN Days- Respiratory Department

Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial: 800 W. Randol Mill Road Arlington, TX 76012

Work hours: PRN Days; 3 shifts within a 6-week schedule, one being a weekend shift

Here's What You Need

Education

• Other Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
• Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

Experience

• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred
• Adult and Neonatal ICU experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required And
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire preferred And
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 days required

What You Will Do

Patient Assessment/Plan of Care

• Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.
• Reviews available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.

Patient Treatment

• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.

Documentation

• Documents verification of physician orders prior to delivery of care.
• Documents aspects of each treatment session in accordance with departmental, JCAHO, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

Professional Accountability

• Utilizes available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and meet departmental needs.
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new employees.
