Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to support Respiratory Care. The role involves reviewing medical records, assessing patients, and applying evidence-based treatments in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program, RCP/RRT credentials on hire, and BCLS with ACLS/NRP as applicable. A NICU preference and strong communication skills are prized assets.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program upon hire.
• CLIAFE compliance with foreign education equivalency required.
• NICU experience strongly preferred.
• RCP and RRT credentials required upon hire; BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly; ACLS required for ICU/ED (90 days); NRP required for NICU (90 days).

Responsibilities

• Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.
• Evaluate patients using age- and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Apply appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol and priority of care.
• Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate assessment and individualized care.
• Use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient’s age and treatment desires.
• Perform treatment procedures within the scope of professional license.

Work hours: PRN ( As Needed ); Days 7:00a- 7:00p with rotating weekends

Here’s What You Need

• Other Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program upon hire required
• Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
• NICU experience strongly preferred
• RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required and RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required and BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required and NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
• Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience
