Job summary

Catholic Health in New York seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join our pulmonary diagnostics team. You will perform diagnostic pulmonary function testing, patient assessments and education, and support 6-minute walk tests in a clinical lab setting.

We seek candidates with an AS in Respiratory Therapy, NY RT or Technician license, BLS, solid computer skills, and 3+ years of experience. This role offers competitive hourly pay and a collaborative, patient-centered environment on Long Island.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program.
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist license.
• Current BLS through the American Heart Association.
• Basic computer skills.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understanding of pulmonary function laboratory operations.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient assessment, clinical aerosol medication delivery and emergency management procedures related to PFT.
• Calibration, operation and performance of diagnostic pulmonary function testing equipment.
• Basic computer skills, Epic EMR for documentation and scanning reports.
• Knowledge of accepted standards, policies, procedures, staff responsibilities and instrumentation related to provision of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
• Performs and documentation of 6 minute walk tests.
• Patient/ Family Education as related to PFT testing, medication delivery systems, devices and Disease state management.
