Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Care team at Texas Health Dallas. This full-time role supports patient assessment, treatment, and monitoring across med/surg and critical care units, with evenings and rotating weekends required.

You will review records, perform age-appropriate assessments, apply interventions per protocol, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required.
• RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) certification required upon hire.
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification required upon hire.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU/ED only 90 days required.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program required if working in NICU (90 days).

Responsibilities

• Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
• Evaluates each patient using age- and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Applies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
• Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age-specific needs.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
• Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license.
