Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Registration as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
• Two years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer complex respiratory therapy procedures.
• Monitor physical signs and general behavior.
• Terminate patient treatment upon notice of discomfort.
• Administer therapeutic and diagnostic gases.
• Evaluate mechanical ventilation effectiveness.

Skills

Knowledge of respiratory diseases

Effective verbal and written communication

Ability to draw arterial blood

Proficient knowledge of medical terminology

Education

Associate degree

Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy

CPR certification

ACLS certification
