Job Summary
Performs all aspects of direct respiratory care according to physician’s orders and/or approved protocols. Consults physicians on the effectiveness of therapy and makes appropriate recommendations. Provides ventilator support and maintains cardiopulmonary life support equipment. Maintains and properly utilizes respiratory care equipment.

Physical Requirements
Requires repetitive physical activity, walking, standing, lifting 20-50 pounds, moving patients of all ages, and having adequate hearing and eyesight. May involve exposure to odors, low lighting, and crowded conditions.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program. Associate’s RRT or RRT equivalent required; Bachelor's preferred. Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina. BLS required; advanced certifications per policy. For emergency and virtual critical care, 2 years critical care experience required.
