The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive cardiopulmonary care to patients across a variety of service lines and clinical settings. This role is responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions using evidence‑based practices, advanced medical equipment, and therapeutic interventions.
Respiratory Therapists may support multiple service lines, including NICU / Neonatal, Medical ICU (MICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and Adult Acute Care (Non‑ICU). The therapist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care throughout the continuum of care.
UT Southwestern is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) as an integral part of our clinical care team. This full‑time RRT position will work collaboratively with our clinical caregivers, patients, and families to improve and maintain ideal lung health for all ages (adult, geriatric, and neonatal). As a valued member of our Respiratory Care team, you will be applying and monitoring medical gases (excluding anesthetic gases) and environmental control systems, mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacologic agents related to respiratory care procedures, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation related and limited to respiratory care.
