Job summary

AdventHealth Burleson seeks a Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shifts (3x12s) with rotating weekends. You will document procedures, support patient flow, and follow safety protocols per hospital policies. NICU experience is required for night shift.

Licenses: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; Texas RCP; NBRC RRT. Night and weekend differentials apply; $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants. Join a faith-based system focused on Whole Person Well-being.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
• Follows safety regulations and standard precautions per hospital policy.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine treatment plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies providing CPR per AHA guidelines.
• Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies per protocol.
• Obtains and analyzes ABG and co-oximetry results with quality controls.
• Operates and manages mechanical ventilators as required.
• Uses patient assessments to guide therapy and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
• Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed.
• Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed.
• Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.
• Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations per hospital needs. [Required]

• Associate [Required]

Field of Study:

• in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science

Work Experience:

• 1+ critical care experience [Preferred]
• Night shift requires NICU experience

Licenses and Certifications:

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP [Required]
• Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) [Required]
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]
