Job summary

Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, GA seeks a registered respiratory therapist for a full-time night shift to join our patient‑centered care team.

You will assess patients, deliver respiratory therapies, manage ventilation, and monitor responses, ensuring airway integrity and patient safety in emergent situations. Eligible candidates hold an accredited degree, current licensure, NBRC credentials, and BCLS/ACLS as required.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Current licensure in CRT or RRT is required; if CRT, RRT must be earned within 12 months.
• 1+ year of experience in respiratory care preferred.
• BCLS required within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months.
• Credentialed and active NBRC member.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessment including breath sounds and airway patency.
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen delivery and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and manage mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor therapeutic response and notify provider if needed.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergencies ensuring airway integrity during resuscitation.

We are seeking a full-time night shift Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

What you will do in this role:

• You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
• You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• You will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
• You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• You will respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Current licensure in CRT or RRT (if CRT – must earn RRT within 12 months) required
• 1+ year of experience in respiratory care preferred
• BCLS required within 30 days of hire required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire required
• Credentialed and active member of NBRC required
