Job Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll play an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments. You’ll perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings. Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate need for respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response; notify provider and intervene as appropriate in case of unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 60 days of employment start.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner with state license.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
