AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver bedside cardiopulmonary care for neonatal to adult patients on the day shift. You will initiate and monitor therapies, including ventilation, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, BLS/ACLS, and RRT/NBRC credentials; 1+ year of critical care experience is preferred. AdventHealth offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Job Description

Sign On Bonus: Up to $15,000

Relocation Bonus: Up to $5,000

Shift: Days - 6:45am - 7:15pm. 3 days per week - Required to work every other weekend

Responsible for performing routine respiratory care procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients per hospital needs. This position initiates and maintains appropriate therapy, including life support techniques and equipment. This role provides preventive, supportive, and corrective interventions related to the cardiopulmonary system in assigned patient care areas. In addition, this position applies knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate interactions with staff, patients, and families. Additionally, this role demonstrates and maintains minimum competency in all applicable clinical skills.

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed.
• Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed.
• Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning.
• Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure. Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.
• Other duties as assigned.
