Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a full-time night shift across multiple Central Florida locations. The role involves patient care from neonatal to geriatric, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and responsibility for arterial blood gas analyses and ventilation support.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science, Florida RRT NBRC registration or equivalent, and BLS/ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• State licensure as Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC RRT certification.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum one year of critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document and process procedures accurately and completely.
• Assist with patient flow and collaborate with healthcare team.
• Interpret evaluations and test results to guide therapy.
• Respond to Code Blue emergencies and provide CPR per AHA guidelines.
• Set up and monitor ventilators and oxygen delivery equipment.
• Assess patient response and adjust therapy as needed.

Job Description:

$15,000.00 sign-on (1-year commitment) - To eligible candidates

$3,000.00 Relocation - To eligible candidates

SHIFT: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM SELF SCHEDULE AND EVERY OTHER WEEKEND

VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN CENTRAL FLORIDA AVAILABLE TO CHOOSE FROM

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed. Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed.
• Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.
• Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations per hospital needs. [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ critical care experience [Preferred]
