Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist. You will assess and treat patients with respiratory conditions, operate ventilators, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to deliver high-quality care.

Ideal candidates will be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, hold is NBRC RRT certification, possess Ohio licensure, and maintain BLS certification. The role requires strong patient interaction and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and blood gas puncture/analysis.
• Educate patients and families about illness and community resources.

A caregiver in this position works PT, 6:00am—2:30pm or 6:00am—6:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
• Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Prior neonatal/pediatric critical care experience
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Physical Requirements

• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
• May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are more than those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $36.75

Maximum hourly: $48.55
