Job summary

Cleveland Clinic on Main Campus in Ohio is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess and treat patients with respiratory conditions, manage ventilators, and respond to critical events.

The role offers high autonomy, collaboration with nurses and physicians, and opportunities to learn from world-renowned experts in respiratory care.

Work is full-time, 3:00pm–1:30am; sign-on bonus available up to $7,500 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP through AHA and/or NPS certification through AHA or ARC.

Respiratory therapists partner closely with nurses, physicians, and specialists to make a real impact every day while practicing at the top of your license. A caregiver in this position works FT, 3:00pm—1:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
• Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) Or the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Prior experience in critical care
• Bachelor’s Degree

Physical Requirements

• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
• May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are more than those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $36.75

Maximum hourly: $48.55
