Job summary

UW Health in Rockford, IL is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist specialized in NICU to provide critical neonatal and pediatric respiratory care as part of a collaborative NICU team.

You will apply advanced clinical expertise, support pediatric transport, and contribute to education and continuous professional development, with competitive benefits and a robust shift-differential compensation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC Accredited Program for Respiratory Therapy. Required
• 2 years experience as a staff therapist, including work with neonatal and/or pediatric critical care patients. Preferred
• Experience working in a patient transport environment. Preferred
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state of Illinois (within 90 days of passing test for new grads) Required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialed by the NBRC. Required
• Basic Life Support/CPR Certification. Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire. Required
• Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) Certification or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire. Required

Responsibilities

Job description

Qualified individuals may receive a bonus of up to $15,000!

90% FTE, full-time. Evening/night shift. 7:00pm-7:00am / Every 3rd weekend / Rotating holidays.

You will work at 1350 Charles St Rockford IL.

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory (NICU) Therapist to:

• Provide specialized respiratory care for critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients as part of a highly collaborative NICU team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.
• Apply advanced clinical expertise in neonatal and pediatric respiratory therapies.
• Support critical care transport operations, delivering expert respiratory assessment and intervention during neonatal ground transport.
• Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence through interdisciplinary collaboration, patient and family education, and ongoing professional development.

Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $3.50/ hr evening, $4.50/ hr night, and $3.75/ hr weekend shift differential as applicable for hours worked.

Other additional components of compensation may include:

Qualifications

Work Experience

• 2 years experience as a staff therapist, including work with neonatal and/or pediatric critical care patients. Preferred
• Experience working in a patient transport environment. Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state of Illinois (within 90 days of passing test for new grads) Required
