Job summary

Choices Coordinated Care Solutions is seeking a Registered Peer Support Specialist (RPSS) to join the Jefferson Parish Mobile Crisis Team. You will support consumers and families post-crisis, model recovery, and advocate for ongoing stabilization within the community.

The role requires a RPSS certification, valid LA driver’s license, and willingness to work in a high-uptime crisis response environment. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, and residency in Orleans/Jefferson parish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Prior 2 years’ experience in behavioral health crisis response.
• Bi-lingual skills (Spanish) a plus.
• Live in Orleans or Jefferson parish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Articulate the mission, vision and practices of the MCS program to consumers.
• Communicate practice expectations of the emergency response system to consumers, partners and funders.
• Respond to crisis referrals per Choices policy.
• Provide backup when contacted by first responders.
• Adhere to policies for 24/7 mobile crisis response system management.
• Incorporate Systems of Care values in interactions with youth and families and team members.
• Communicate effectively with Leadership Team for collaborative response.
• Maintain positive relationships with co-workers.
• Follow strategic plans and quality improvement procedures to enhance service experience.
• Collect all necessary service data.
• Participate in meetings to review performance and quality indicators and adjust as needed.
• Willingly complete other duties to advance the mission of the Mobile Crisis Team.
