Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Registered Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property Department in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will draft patent applications and respond to office actions for U.S.

and international applications while supporting attorneys in post-grant proceedings and IP litigation. The ideal candidate holds USPTO registration with 3–6 years of experience as a patent agent, and a Master’s or PhD in physics, electrical or computer engineering, or related field.

Qualifications

• PhD/Master in physics, electrical or computer engineering, or related field.
• Active USPTO patent agent registration and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions for US and foreign applications.
• Assist attorneys in post-grant proceedings, invalidity and non-infringement opinions, and patent litigation.
• Coordinate with paralegal and supervising attorneys to advance IP matters.

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Registered Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property Department in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will work under the direction of supervising attorneys and the Paralegal Manager, supporting the firm's active IP practice in telecommunication, software, and related technologies.

Duties

• Draft applications and responses to office actions for US and foreign applications.
• Support attorneys in technical aspects of post-grant proceedings, invalidity and non-infringement opinions, and patent litigation.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice before the USPTO.3 years (6 years preferred) of experience as a registered patent agent.Industry experience in technology or engineering companies is a plus.

Education

• Master's or Ph.D. in physics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree with significant industry experience may be considered.

Certifications

• Registered Patent Agent with the USPTO.

Skills

• Proficient in Westlaw, patent-related databases, and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and critical-thinking skills.
