Position Summary:
Provides direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team about patient condition or response to treatment.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess, monitor, and document patient status for 24-hour care.
2. Perform patient care considering age-specific needs.
3. Administer medications correctly based on patient age and condition.
4. Develop, implement, and revise care and educational plans.
5. Assist physicians and perform technical procedures as required.
6. Ensure patient safety and proper documentation.
7. Coordinate and supervise care, respecting patient dignity and cultural needs.
8. Communicate with team members and notify physicians of changes.
9. Manage equipment safely and educate patients/families.
10. Utilize resources efficiently and perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state.
• BLS certification required; Wound Care certification preferred.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
• Experience in medical-surgical, home health, or wound care preferred.

Additional Information:

Wounds treated include diabetic, surgical, arterial, venous, radiation-induced skin damage, non-healing grafts, osteomyelitis, crush injuries, and more. Opportunities to work with advanced modalities such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and bio-engineered tissue.
