A leading healthcare organization seeks a nursing educator to provide instruction and support in patient education. The role requires a Registered Nurse license, experience in clinical practice, and offers opportunities for impact on staff development and program evaluation. Summary
Provides instruction, individually or in a group format to persons of all ages. Provides staff development guidance to assist staff
providing patient education based on established protocols or guidelines. Monitors, evaluates and revises education programs.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Education
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Experience
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years clinical nursing practice. Demonstrated competency in area of expertise.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Prior teaching experience
Certifications
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Based on Specialty
Certificate in clinical specialty
Certificate as a Diabetes Educator by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE)
preferred on hiring and required within two years of hire.
Certificate in Child Birth Education
Certificate in Wound, Ostomy and Continence
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have
AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
