Registered Nurse – Wound Care

Position Summary:
Responsible for treatment and management of patients with altered skin integrity due to acute or chronic wounds. Provides support, education, and guidance to patients and staff while working as part of a team to create a plan of care.
Department: Wound Care
Schedule: 8 AM – 4 PM; Days; Full-time; 80 hours per pay period. No on-call; No weekend work.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop, revise, and implement appropriate plans of care for patients with skin integrity issues.
- Collaborate with medical staff to create treatment plans for patients with complex wounds.
- Provide education and training to nursing and medical staff on assessment and promotion of skin integrity and wound management.
- Evaluate patient and family learning needs and provide education to ensure understanding and ability to complete self-care.
- Ensure that the plan of care is communicated across the care continuum.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education.
- Perform other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications:
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Wound care experience.
- Certified or eligible for certification by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses (if not certified, must become certified within 24 months of hire).
- BSN (preferred).
