Summary
*** will travel between Murfreesboro campus and Nashville Campus. The Registered Nurse (Wound Care - Ostomy and Continence Specialist) utilizes the nursing process to manage conditions such as acute wounds, chronic wounds, fistulas, vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, venous ulcers, neuropathic ulcers, and functional disorders of the bowel and bladder for Acute Care, Long Term Care, Ambulatory Care, and Rehabilitation.
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
- English Language Proficiency
- In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time the program was completed.
- OR individuals attending a master's level bridge program in nursing who have completed coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Nursing may have the opportunity to become registered as a nurse with a state licensing board prior to completing the bridge program.
- Upon achieving a State license, the individual may be appointed on a temporary basis and later converted to a permanent appointment upon graduation from the bridge program.
- Foreign graduates must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration to meet the graduation requirement from an approved school of professional nursing.
- Foreign nursing education higher than an associate degree requires a formal degree equivalency validation from a recognized evaluation service such as ICD.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a US State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: Candidates without licensure may be appointed as a GNT on a 120-day temporary appointment while pursuing licensure, extendable up to two years.

Duties
- The RN reports to the Nurse Manager and Chief Nurse Operations at Alvin C. York Campus - Nursing Service.
- Responsibilities include coordinating wound and ostomy supplies, implementing skin and wound care programs, providing patient and staff education, and facilitating discharge planning.
- Preferred experience includes 1-2 years in acute or critical care, and MSN with WOCN certification and 2 years in wound and ostomy care.
