Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is seeking a Postpartum Nurse to support mothers and their newborns in the Maternity unit. You will educate mothers on newborn care while monitoring both mother and infant during the postpartum period.

Night shift, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, in the 1042 Maternity department. Required: Missouri RN license and BLS; NRP within 12 months. Preferred: BSN and prior nursing experience. This role supports CoxHealth’s patient-centered care and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: BSN in Nursing
• Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred
• Licensure/Certification: Missouri RN license; BLS within 90 days; NRP within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Postpartum Nurse educates and assists the new mother with her physical and emotional needs during the post-partum period. They perform the dual role of caring for the infants and educating mothers about their care.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
