Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO seeks an experienced RN for General Surgery 3W. This full-time weekend night shift position supports patient care within the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and collaborates with multiple departments to uphold patient rights and safety.

You have at least 2 years of patient care, a valid RN license, and BLS. A BSN is preferred. Graduate from an accredited nursing program; must obtain/maintain licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Works the Nights shift on the General Surgery 3W unit.
• Delivers high-quality care while ensuring patient safety and advocacy.

Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-time, Weekend | 36 hours/week

Shift: Nights 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
