Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a full-time Day Shift Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Dedicated Oncology Unit. This role supports leadership, coordinates patient care on a high-acuity oncology unit, and participates in chemotherapy administration and symptom management.
The RN will lead safety and quality initiatives under the department manager, streamline workflow, and contribute to staff development.
Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital – Norfolk, VA
Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Days
Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Weekends: Every other weekend availability required
Holiday Rotation: Required
Oncology 6 RP Unit Overview
The Oncology 6 RP Unit is a 36-bed inpatient Intermediate Care Unit dedicated to caring for patients with cancer. Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs. Care provided on this unit includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
