Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor for the Oncology 6 RP Intermediate Care unit. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week role on the day shift within Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center, a Magnet hospital with a large cancer network.

The unit provides specialized inpatient care including chemotherapy, hospice, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, and advanced treatments. 2 years RN, leadership experience, BSN, and a valid RN license are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• 2 years RN experience required.
• Intermediate Care experience preferred.
• One year nursing leadership/supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor nursing staff on the Oncology 6 RP IMC unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments.
• Coordinate chemotherapy administration and symptom management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support individualized patient care.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse Supervisor for our dedicated Oncology Intermediate Care unit, home to Hampton Roads’ only Level I Trauma Center. Education Requirements

• BSN Required

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• 2 years RN experience Required
• Intermediate Care experience preferred
• One year Nursing Leadership/Supervisory experience Required

Oncology 6 RP Unit Overview

The Oncology 6 RP Unit is a 36-bed inpatient Intermediate Care Unit dedicated to caring for patients with cancer. Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs. Care provided on this unit includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.

• Work within one of the country’s largest cancer networks , accredited as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including board-certified and fellowship-trained cancer experts, to support individualized patient care.
• Provide care in an environment that prioritizes advanced, evidence-based technology and treatments , including innovative radiation therapies , robotic surgery , and HIPEC ®.
