Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Registered Nurse Service Line Coordinator (Unit Coordinator) for the Main OR. This full-time, first-shift role runs 6:45 AM–3:15 PM with occasional call for PTO coverage.

Ideal candidates have scrub/circulation/procedural OR experience. The team supports complex cases across GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedics, with strong patient satisfaction and cost-management focus.

Qualifications

• BSN required to practice as RN.
• MSN preferred for advanced practice.
• RN license in good standing required.
• 18 months of acute care RN experience required.
• Scrub and circulator experience in OR.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• PeriOp 101 program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate service line instruments and equipment needs.
• Provide service line education and training.
• Participate in staff interviews and onboarding.
• Ensure all rooms with the specialty are ready for the day.
• Review surgery schedule for equipment conflicts.
• Collaborate with surgeons and vendors to reduce costs.
• Support precepting of staff in the service line.
• Submit and follow work orders for equipment as needed.

This is a full time, first shift position from 645A-315P with occasional call for PTO coverage. Ideal candidates will have Scrub, Circulation, or Procedural experience in sterile fields.Call: 1 to 2 shifts per 6 weeks schedule on average.Department Information: Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including; Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.
