Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (LDRP) for the Night shift on a 14-week travel contract. The RN provides comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care, circulates in the OR, administers medications, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

Requires 2+ years Labor & Delivery experience, Virginia RN license with ACLS/BLS/NRP, and preferred fetal monitoring coursework.

Qualifications

• RN degree required (ADN/BSN/MSN).
• Virginia RN license required with ACLS/BLS/NRP certifications.
• Intermittent or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
• Proficiency circulating in the OR.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Meets and maintains any requirements defined by a specific special

Registered Nurse Education

• RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN

Certification/Licensure

• Valid RN License to practice in Virginia
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP

Registered Nurse Experience

• MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT Labor & Delivery Experience
• MUST be proficient at Circulating in the OR
