Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC, is hiring a Registered Nurse for 2-South Medical/Surgical Unit. Full-time, day shift with a $15,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Unit cares for adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients with diverse surgical and medical conditions.

New Grad RNs are welcome; 11-week Transition to Practice leads to a 6-month residency to support transition to practice. Requires RN license and current BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing degree or diploma required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients on a 24-bed M/S unit.
• Manage diverse case mix including medical, surgical, gynecologic, orthopedic and thoracic conditions.
• Support new graduate nurses through Transition to Practice and a 6-month residency program.
• Provide safe, high-quality care and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.

Overview:

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 2-South Medical/Surgical Unit.

Full-time, day shift

This M/S unit is a 24-bed unit with adult, geriatric, adolescent patient population. Medical or GYN overflow patients are cared for on this Medical/Surgical Unit. The variety of cases seen include abdominal, endoscopic, ENT, general, gynecologic, ophthalmic, orthopedic, thoracic, urologic, vascular, and plastic surgeries. Medical patients are admitted with CHF, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, atrial fib and chest pain.

This unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty. The 11-week Transition to Practice program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in IMC areas. For new graduates , this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Sentara Albemarle Medical Center , located in Elizabeth City, NC, serves northeastern North Carolina with a caring team of approximately 650 employees and 150 medical providers.
