Job summary

Carondelet St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, AZ is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct care in alignment with established policies and protocols.

You will coordinate care across disciplines, monitor patient status, and support discharge planning while delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing. Qualifications include an active Arizona nursing license, BLS, and at least one year of RN experience; BSN and ACLS/PALS are preferred depending on department.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of RN experience.
• Valid Arizona Nursing License or compact state license with ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
• BLS required.
• ACLS and PALS as required by department.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP or equivalent certifications may be required by specific department.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans and communicates patient conditions.
• Serves as primary coordinator of care across disciplines.
• Follows physician and nursing orders and coordinates discharge planning with the team.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documentation.
• Delivers patient and family education and safety measures.
• Ensures care is delivered consistently and evaluated for effectiveness.
• Delegates and supervises care as appropriate to achieve optimal outcomes.

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient\'s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Assessment - An RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient, the first step in delivering nursing care. Assessment includes not only physiological data, but also psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors as well.

• Problem Identification - Problem identification is the nurse’s clinical judgment about the patient’s response to actual or potential health conditions or needs.

Assessment data, problem identification, and goals are written in the patient’s care plan so that nurses as well as other health professionals caring for the patient have access to it.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements:
• Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Continuing education requirements as defined within the CARE program.
• Experience: One (1) year as an RN.
• Licensure/Certifications:
• Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American Heart Association and others as required by individual department as noted in Attachment A.
• Preferred Requirements:
